Meeting With Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler Of Missouri, Senator Jacky Rosen Of Nevada And Senator Roger Wicker Of Mississippi To Discuss Matters Concerning Afghanistan Peace Process And Safeguarding Our National Interests
Mr Haji Ajmal Rahmani and other MPs met Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler of Missouri (Member House Committee on Armed Services), Senator Jacky Rosen of Nevada (Member Senate Committee on Armed Services) and Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi (2nd highest-ranking Republican member of the Senate Armed Services Committee) to discuss matters concerning Afghanistan Peace Process and safeguarding their national interests. They also had a result-oriented discussion on how to defend the lives of people of Afghanistan.
During the group’s discussions, Congress Members expressed genuine concern about the impact of the US troop withdrawal on the Peace process, National Security, Women’s and Human Rights, and the issue of IDPs. They had an open discussion about each of these issues and stressed the importance of preserving the gains of the last 20 years. They also shared the importance of a strong and capable ANDSF, comprehensive counter-terrorism policy that is vital for the stability of Afghanistan. The Members of Congress ensured that they would continue to provide Aid and Support to Afghanistan and appreciated the efforts of the Parliament for their oversight and fight against corrupt practices. They also promised to work on all requirements for a stronger ANDSF. The discussions included Diplomatic and Political support needed for Afghanistan to guarantee success.
