Business Expansion & Diversification

After relocating his family to Dubai in 2010, Haji Ajmal Rahmani's vision for his business expanded beyond Afghanistan. He adopted a global outlook and began investing in diverse industries, such as financial instruments and equities, real estate, construction materials, and petroleum and hydrocarbon distribution. In 2011, he ventured into the real estate market in the UAE, starting with small acquisitions and building up his portfolio. His aspiration to grow and expand his business led him to establish fuel storage farms at strategic locations in Afghanistan, a natural progression from his fuel transportation services.

Haji Ajmal Rahmani established strong connections with major fuel producers and refineries in Central Asia. In late 2012 and early 2013, when NATO’s fuel suppliers encountered difficulties, Haji Ajmal Rahmani's company took over, supplying various petroleum products to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) on a direct US Funded contract under NATO's Resolute Support (RS) and the Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan (CSTC-A) and in 2016 again won the contract for fuel supply to Afghan National Army (ANA) and the Ministry of Defense.

In May 2014, the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense initially awarded the fuel contract to other local Afghan suppliers. However, within a few months, these suppliers failed to fulfil their obligations, leading to the termination of their contract by the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense in 2015. In March 2015, the National Procurement Authority (NPA) of Afghanistan, in collaboration with CSTC-A, awarded a bridge contract to Haji Ajmal Rahmani's company. Multiple follow-on bridge contracts were also awarded to ensure continuous fuel supply to the Afghan National Army (ANA) and the Ministry of Defense until a new contract could be tendered and awarded. Haji Ajmal Rahmani's company successfully secured the subsequent contract through a competitive process.

Haji Ajmal Rahmani's company became a crucial supplier in Afghan fuel contracts due to strong regional partnerships with refineries, strong support from partners like SGS, and a comprehensive network of company-owned storage and transportation assets. The company consistently delivered outstanding service and quality, exceeding all deadlines and contract requirements.

Customers from among NATO, International, and US forces repeatedly issued commendations and praise on the quality of service, reliability, transparency in reporting, and dedication to continuous improvement. In 2014-15 when the NATO and international troops started to withdrawing from Afghanistan, Haji Ajmal Rahmani convened a group of his international advisors to develop a plan for realigning his business focus towards international opportunities and reducing his company's operational footprint in Afghanistan.

By 2016, Haji Ajmal Rahmani transitioned his business model from direct operational involvement and prime contracting with NATO/ISAF and other international troops to adopting a support-centric approach in Afghanistan. Under this new approach, he chose to support promising companies and entrepreneurs in the region through value-added services. These companies operated independently, and he provided them with leased assets, storage, and infrastructure to facilitate their operations. He also provided services of industry relationships gained over a decade of providing services to NATO forces. Importantly, he maintained a clear separation from the day-to-day operations and decision-making of these companies, ensuring their autonomy. The earnings generated from these investments were consistently reinvested in the business, nurturing growth and development.

However, due to the unfortunate fall of Kabul in 2021, Haji Ajmal was forced to cease all activities in Afghanistan in August 2021. He has shifted focus 100% towards making an impact on the world through other global business and philanthropic ventures.

Haji Ajmal Rahmani believes that as an entrepreneur, he is responsible for helping to address the most pressing societal and economic issues that Germany faces.
